Luis González Y Su Orquesta

Luis González is an accomplished trumpet player, band leader, and musical director with a storied résumé in salsa music. He has performed with internationally renowned salsa bands, including Ray Barreto, Willie Rosario, Luis "Perico" Ortiz, Roberto Rohena, Tommy Olivencia, Bobby Valentin, Conjunto Clásico, Jerry Rivera, Puerto Rican Power, Nino Segerra, La Mulenze, and Celia Cruz, among others.

Many top salsa band leaders have relied on his experience, talent, and professionalism to help them maintain the highest artistic standards that have made them into household names in the Latin music world. Mr. González has served as the musical director for Lalo Rodríguez, Luisito Carrión, Anthony Cruz, Wichi Camacho, Mel Martínez, and Carolina Lao Y Marlon.

With this impressive career under his belt, band leader and trumpeter Luis González has released his first recording, Tributo A Un Gigante, a tribute to the great Puerto Rican percussionist Ray Barreto. Two years in the making, this CD is genuine tour de force in salsa music. Every song on this CD exudes the best of Puerto Rican salsa.
